Annie and De Votion win the 4YO Pony BD UK Nationals 2016

Congratulations to Angie Raith on breeding the 2016 4YO Champion. De Votion ‘Daisy’ won the UK Championship at the Hartpury Festival of Dressage this weekend. Well done to Annie who rode her faultlessly. All the hard work was worth it – and the re-arranging the holiday! Thanks also to Jack for not complaining!

Annie qualifies for UK BD Nationals

Congratulations to Annie and De Votion (Daisy) who qualified at Addington for the 4YO Young Pony UK finals, to be held at Hartpury. They came 2nd, to the stallion Woodlander Sir Gorgeous. Congratulations also to Daisy’s owner, Angie Raith who had the good sense to breed from her mare Wiebke, with the stallion De Niro. De Votion is one of only 12 horses already qualified for the B.E.F. Equine Bridge Evalution UK Finals in October, so there’s plenty of work for Annie this summer.

We were extremely honoured to host the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Rounds on Saturday 26th September 2015.

Horse & Hound article - 3rd January 2014

We were very pleased to see the recent coverage in Horse and Hound of our Dressage event on 29th December. So close to Christmas, we were thrilled with the quality of the entries that we received.

Jo and Annie continue to compete hard against each other, whilst sharing the joys and tribulations of Urban Spirit and this time, after some chilled out weeks of hacking, he was delightfully behaved for Jo and they won the Medium Qualifying event, with Annie placed second on Revaldo. Annie's two wins, in the Prelim Qualifier and in the Novice 23 class more than compensated.

Annie's 1st international Dressage

Congratulations to Annie, who competed at Hickstead for Great Britain in her first International CDI in August 2013. To view the video click the button below.

Mark McCourt - Elite Coach programme

Mark McCourt has been selected to be an Elite Coach by the British Equestrian Federation. Mark is one of two to be selected and will work with Yogi Breisner who is the leader for the Coach Development World Class Programme. CONGRATULATION'S MARK! Very lucky to have Mark teaching at Maelor Equestrian Centre on a regular basis.

New indoor surface

A new gel track surface has been installed in our indoor school. It now looks bigger and brighter and most importantly, it is dust free. It is great to school and jump on and we are looking forward to holding our competitions on it.

Annie comes 3rd at Hickstead 2013

Annie, on Urban Spirit, came 3rd with 67.87% in a class of very good horses at Hickstead. The FEI Junior Team test is equivalent to Advanced Medium level, but for riders between 16 and 18 years of age. It was very hot and she had two horses in the same class. Annie was also placed on her horse Ravel and she had to do a quick swap from one horse to the other. Despite the pressure, Urban Spirit did not let her down, although he can be quirky at times, and they finished smiling.

Maelor EC Xmas parties

The Maelor EC Christmas Show 2016 was a great success, with lots of participants, impressive enthusiasm and great ideas for costumes. In particular, the 'Pony and Hound' class was well received with plenty of laughter and encouragement from the audience, as the riders and dogs struggled over the fences. Please take a look at the short compiled video of the show on YouTube. We would like to thank everyone for participating with such great spirit and wish you all the best for 2017.

The Maelor EC team.
